Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for the position of On-Call/Temporary Service Associate at Au Bon Pain (ABP) Café in our Campus Dining department. The UOES division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.

Why this position?
We are looking for enthusiastic employees to join our dynamic team at Au Bon Pain Café located in the Hesburgh Library. As an On-Call/Temporary Service Associate in Campus Dining, you’ll play a vital role in providing excellent dining experiences for our campus community.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrate clean, fast and friendly service to all guests; be professional in all interactions with guests and team members
  • Ability to cashier, learn the University’s point of sale system, and gain knowledge of all ABP products
  • Execution of made to order sandwiches, hand-crafted espresso beverages and/or frozen mochas/smoothies
  • Refill creamers and condiments, clean/restock drink station, soup station, etc.
  • Ensure all products meet ABP’s standards of freshness and appearance
  • Restock supply areas, clean counters and tables
  • Spot sweeping the front of house, remove trash, ensure all equipment is kept clean
  • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move, lift, and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products
