Overview

CAES by Honeywell is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support Value Stream Manufacturing Engineering of processes, equipment, and supporting systems of basic & complex integrated microwave assemblies; performs evaluations and analysis of processes related to issues of moderate complexity in electronic systems and assemblies; determine and implement corrective actions to improve process.


Responsibilities

Major Duties & Responsibilities

    • Maintain methods, operation sequence and optimize processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
    • Assist in the development, documentation, material and process selection, mechanical layout and packaging; perform technical and production support.
    • Collaborate with all levels of engineering and drafting staff in the development of new ideas; reviews current documentation and develop Engineering Change Orders (ECO) as required.
    • Prepare reports, publishes and makes presentations to communicate findings.
    • Ensure compliance to design contract specification and schedule.
    • Team up with assemblers and technicians in assembly, processes, and tune optimization of electronic circuits assemblies and processes.
    • Perform and coordinate production engineering support function such as fixtures, materials, design, process problem evaluation and solution.
    • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
    • Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements.
    • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
    • Problem solve issues related to processes and manufacturing that will impact problems including yields, HPUs, quality, and defects.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Manufacturing Technology, or related field, required; or three (3) years minimum as Engineering Technician with working general knowledge of electronics manufacturing, including all phase of product development cycle, design for manufacturing assessment, and producibility.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Security Clearance within 9 months.

Preferred:

  • Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written technical publications; communicate quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities
  • Computer skills: working in networked environment using a Windows and or Windows like interface using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word software programs at an advance level; LabView, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or exposure to 2D and 3D CAD programming a plus
  • Math & Analytical skills: advanced mathematical skills, including statistical analysis; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements
  • Time Management and Organization skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information
  • Excellence Behaviors: remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignment to be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors and conversations to what matters most; ability to work independently and as a team member.

Annual Salary Range: $73,158.02 - $103,103 (San Diego). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. CAES provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K, paid holidays and vacation.
