Job Description

All administrative aid positions involve providing general administrative support to an academic or administrative unit. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures regarding office services, College protocols, and administrative requirements.
  • Answering phones, opening and routing mail, creating correspondence, flyers, letters syllabi, tests, and/or reports, proofing and editing documents.
  • Acting as the initial point of contact for office, directing calls and walk-ins to appropriate staff or departments.
  • Managing and maintaining schedules and calendars.
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies through various vendors.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising student assistants.
  • Maintains manual and/or automated financial, accounting, personnel, and other administrative and management files and records and ensuring confidentiality where appropriate.
  • Attending meetings, taking notes and distributing information as appropriate.
  • Performing calculations and data entry.      
  • Managing web page(s) for the academic or administrative area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience providing office administrative support involving customer service.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Appropriate use of spelling, grammar, writing styles and formats.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to organize work and timely perform assignments.

  • Administrative Aide III - Central Services, Rockville - Facilities, Central Administration
  • Administrative Aide II - Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TP/SS) Campus - Mathematics and Statistics Department

Hiring Range
Admin Aide I - Grade 15 - $18.55 - $27.82 per hour; Initial salary placement for new hires fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range $ 18.55 - $23.19, based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.
Admin Aide II - Grade 19 - $21.62 - $32.43 per hour: Initial salary placement for new hires fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range $21.62 - $27.02, based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.
Admin Aide III - Grade 23 - $25.18 - $40.28 per hour; Initial salary placement for new hires fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range $ 25.18- $32.73, based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.

Process:
